Nights, with options for 8 and 12-hour shifts.Every third weekend and holiday rotation required.Sign-On Bonus : $15,000 for 3rd Shift

Unit Overview :
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit and provide care for a diverse patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Patients experiencing hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program .A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow cases .As a part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , gain exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.

Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness in collaboration with patients and families.Recognize significant changes in patients' conditions and adapt care plans accordingly.Implement safety strategies to reduce patient risk and ensure readiness to learn.Coordinate discharge plans with an interdisciplinary approach.Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and take action as necessary.Promote effective communication within the healthcare team and engage in leadership roles.Encourage a culture of safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives.Engage in professional development and mentorship opportunities.Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific patient needs and provide appropriate care.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).Education Required :
Completion of an accredited nursing program.Experience Required :
At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
Ability to provide holistic patient care with a patient and family focus.Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.Proficient in electronic medical records and communication tools.Excellent interpersonal skills for building rapport with patients and team members.Organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.Able to manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.Skilled in coordination, collaboration, and team-building.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist.Able to lift up to 50 lbs., lift 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs.Must perform pushes / pulls with 30 lbs. of force.May be exposed to chemicals, hazardous waste, blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases; appropriate protective gear is required.Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch are required, along with fine motor skills for procedures.Able to operate required equipment.This job description provides a general overview of the position and is not comprehensive.
