Overview
Serve as architectural designer and drawing support for a project team on a variety of project types. Under supervision, has responsibility for duties including assistance with the design of architectural projects and preparation of drawings, plans and specifications. Perform research, site visits, data collection; prepare sketches, diagrams, plans and renderings. Work collaboratively with multi-discipline design team to develop design solutions to meet the client’s needs.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary design team.
Under general supervision, work from the design of others and perform routine architectural assignments such as :
Site visits and data collection.
Prepare and review drawings to communicate architectural ideas including the preparation of preliminary studies, sketches and renderings.
Prepare design drawings, working drawings and specifications of buildings for compliance with zoning, building, plumbing, electrical, fire and health regulations.
Prepares information regarding design, materials, color, and opinions of probable cost or construction time.
Participates in the selection of systems and equipment and their coordination with engineers of record.
Participates in the construction administration process.
Nonessential Duties
Participation in professional organizations such as AIA, CSI, etc.
Active pursuit of architectural license.
Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience
Qualified candidates must have a degree in architecture, a Bachelor in Architecture (BArch) or equivalent.
Professional experience is preferred, strength of portfolio may be considered in lieu of experience.
Preferred experience in one or more of the following project types : commercial – office, education, hospitality, and / or multi-family residential.
Experience with State of Hawaii codes and industry standards preferred.
Language Skills
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to present project materials and information clearly and concisely.
Strong organizational skills.
Other Skills
Growing knowledge of architectural principles and practices.
Growing knowledge of project delivery, construction codes and regulations, construction documents and building materials.
Demonstrate good collaboration skills and is effective contributor to project teams.
Proficiency in Revit preferred.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively in a team framework.
Capable use of MS Office products.
Capable use of Adobe Creative Suite.
Ideal candidate will demonstrate ability to use sound discretion and independent judgment.
Self-motivated / self-directed.
Compensation
$55,000 - $70,000 / year
