JOB TITLE : Electives Teacher

REPORTS TO : Principal

PAY GRADE : Teacher Salary Scale

PRIMARY PURPOSE :

The Electives Teacher is responsible for implementing the Districts instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated in accordance with District goals policies and procedures.

Qualifications : Required :

• Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited College or University
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
• One year of student teaching or approved internship

Special Knowledge and Skills :

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

Completes effective lesson plans with immediate and long range goals.

Organizes the procedures for effective classroom management.

Supervises behavior and safety of students in classes between classes and during school-related activities on and off campus.

Inform parents about programs for students.

Maintains accurate records for student evaluation and progress.

Working Conditions :

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing stooping bending kneeling pushing and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom or adaptive equipment.
