Material Coordinator II – Material Planning & Control

Job Title : Material Coordinator

Client : Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company

Duration : 1 Year (Possible Extension)

Location : Ankeny IA 50023

Shift : 1st Shift (Mon Fri flexible start at 6 : 00 AM)

Role Summary :

Position responsible for coordinating material flow across multiple departments ensuring on-time availability of parts maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production schedules. Requires strong communication SAP knowledge Excel skills and the ability to troubleshoot shortages in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Coordinate procurement expediting and on-time delivery of materials across departments

Maintain production schedules using the Master Schedule

Track escalate and resolve critical part shortages; update daily Hot List

Identify and correct root causes of inventory discrepancies

Process inbound / outbound material transactions and audit replenishment cycles

Communicate with Supply Management on PO status ETAs and delays

Support engineers by troubleshooting part requests

Prepare daily / weekly Excel-based reports and participate in priority meetings

Implement changes from engineering releases and change management processes

Work Environment :

10% shop floor / 90% desk work

Metatarsal boots required on Day 1

Tools & Systems : SAP

Vision

MS Office (Excel PowerPoint Word)

Required Experience & Skills :

2-year degree in Pre-Engineering Manufacturing / Engineering Tech CAD or related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong MS Office and computer skills (Intermediate Excel required)

Highly organized detail-oriented proactive and strong communicator

Strong problem-solving abilities and positive working attitude

Preferred : 4-year degree

Mechanical aptitude

SAP experience

Power BI familiarity

Recent graduates welcome
