Base pay range
$140,000.00 / yr - $170,000.00 / yr
Position Summary
The Director of Financial Operations works directly with the CFO to lead core financial functions for Friendship, including budgeting, accounting, procurement, grants, and compliance. This leader shapes long‑term financial strategy, ensures resources are allocated equitably across the district, and supports operational decisions that advance student success. The Director manages multiple finance teams and partners closely with leaders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Support financial strategy, annual budget development, and long‑term forecasting.
Lead capital planning efforts with the CFO.
Ensure compliance with authorizers, bondholders, and all regulatory requirements.
Oversee finance operations : budget monitoring, financial controls, reporting, procurement, payroll, AP, and grants.
Present financial information to internal leaders and external stakeholders.
Manage cash flow forecasting, monthly reporting, and annual projections.
Support annual audits and required financial filings.
Implement and optimize financial systems including Vena, ADP, and Coupa.
Strengthen internal controls, data accuracy, and financial transparency.
Provide strategic guidance to department leaders on budgeting and fiscal stewardship.
Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing finance team.

Qualifications
Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's preferred.
Active CPA required.
At least 5 years of experience in budgeting, financial management, or public sector finance.
Minimum 5 years in senior leadership.
Experience with multi‑million‑dollar budgets and financial system implementation.
