Summary :
Accomplish the Children and Family Services Department objectives by advocating for the safety of children and for the preservation of the family. Support and strengthen families by focusing on positive parenting, optimal child development, and healthy family functioning. Ensure that services are provided effectively and efficiently to the Oneida Nation.
Responsibilities :
1. Practice excellent customer services skills at all times to include, but not limited to, addressing customer and case needs courtesy and promptly (Customer service provided shall be in line with the organizations “Good Mind” core values).
2. Create and facilitate parenting education programs with a culturally sensitive curriculum for parent / child bonding; child development activities; parent / family and youth-peer support; and community events. This will include, but is not limited to the following :
a. Assess the potential causes of social issues impacting families.
b. Recruit caregivers into the program.
c. Provide community outreach on Parenting Program services.
d. Provide in-service training on program curriculums to internal and external agencies.
e. Network with educators and referral agencies to best serve the needs of the families and children.
f. Cultivate a working relationship with educators and referral agencies to best serve the needs of families and children.
3. Assist families in developing coping skills and support their efforts toward self-sufficiently and healthy and stable family relationships.
a. Meet individually with participants and provide case management as needed; to include home visits. Continuously assessing needs.
b. Refer clients to tribal and county agencies, and other appropriate services for families in need. Facilitate group and address negative dynamics that may be present.
c. Mediate between program participants and others when issues or conflicts arise.
d. Transport parents or children to appointments as required.
e. Comply with service plans or court ordered rulings.
4. Prepare and submit correspondence; narrative, statistical, and court reports; and other documents as required.
5. Perform data entry and maintain records, ensuring accuracy of data, and ensuring pertinent, accurate, and current information.
6. Assure security, confidentiality, and quality services, and professional standards at all times.
7. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and / or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
Must provide a copy of diploma / degree, license, or certification upon employment.
