Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II in the Information Security Audit and Internal Investigations Unit (ISAU), the incumbent will complete the steps of highly sensitive internal investigations. The work primarily focuses on gathering, analyzing, and documenting facts, preparing reports, presenting findings to management. The incumbent will conduct and / or assist with in-person or virtual administrative interviews, while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality. The incumbent will perform a variety of recurring well defined tasks requiring occasional innovative problem solving related to Information Security Analysis and Investigations. The incumbent will participate in a wide variety of the most complex consultative, analytical, and investigatory assignments to ensure access to and use of Franchise Tax Board's (FTB's) information assets is within policy guidelines and unit procedures. The ISAU Supervisor and Lead will make assignments by generally defining objectives, priorities and deadlines. The incumbent is expected work independently to resolve issues on his / her own but seek advice or assistance from the unit Lead or Supervisor when faced with more difficult or sensitive issues. The incumbent will be responsible for routinely reviewing audit logs and reports and responding to alerts and requests to determine the appropriateness of system accesses, transactions and activities. The incumbent will also recommend policy and procedure updates and / or enhancements for improving the security and integrity of FTB assets.

Working Conditions

• This position is eligible for limited remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of four days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
