Overview

We are seeking a mid-level ETL / ELT Developer to support a key federal client. The ideal candidate will bring experience in data engineering, data integration, and ETL / ELT development, particularly with SAP Data Services and Oracle. This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC area, requiring on-site presence three days per week.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain complex ETL / ELT pipelines, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Develop SAP Data Services jobs to extract, transform, and load data from various source systems into Oracle-based data marts and data warehouses.
Gather, document, and refine business and technical requirements to support end-to-end data processing workflows.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, architects, and fellow developers to deliver robust and scalable data solutions.
Maintain and support existing SAP Data Services implementations.
Follow and enforce best practices in system design, development, and documentation.
Create and maintain accurate technical documentation for data processes.

Required Skills and Experience

3+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing ETL processes for data warehousing and migration projects.

5+ years of experience writing SQL.

3+ years of experience with Oracle PL / SQL.

Familiarity with SAP Data Services or equivalent ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, IBM DataStage).

Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling (3+ years).

Experience working within Agile development teams.

Knowledge of ETL best practices, performance optimization, and data modeling.

Requirements gathering and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to business stakeholders.

Resourceful, detail-oriented, and highly organized team player with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in federal government contracting.

2+ years with additional programming languages such as T-SQL or PostgreSQL.

3+ years of experience in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Management, or a related technical field.

Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
