Responsibilities
Provides administrative and program support for student and employee wellness initiatives, including assistance with communication and evaluation of various wellness education programs.
Assists the Harper Wellness Manager in the development, implementation, marketing, campus communications and evaluation of Harper's Student and Employee Wellness programming to meet specific goals and objectives. Provides students and employees referral information to campus and community resources, as appropriate.
Aids in the development and planning of fun and engaging wellness programs, events, and resources for students and employees using evidence-based practices and strategies.
Provides administrative support and coordinates the operational details of Harper Wellness.
Types and prepares letters, memos, reports, meeting minutes, compiles assessments, and other materials as needed for Harper Wellness.
Provides information about programs, services, and other general information about Harper Wellness to students and employees.
Schedules appointments and maintains the calendars for the Harper Wellness Manager and coordinates meetings as needed.
Monitors and processes transactions affecting the Harper Wellness budget accounts.
Maintains records and prepares expenditure reports for the Harper Wellness Manager.
Creates various promotional materials for Harper Wellness programs and events using the webpage, social media, student portal, student monthly email, employee newsletter, flyers, posters, tabling, etc.
Assists the Wellness Manger with development of program objectives, program outlines, and evaluation tools using data, assessment, and evidence-based practices.
Assists with preparation of annual assessment reports for administration and Campus community.
Assists the Harper Wellness Manager with budget development, implementation, and reconciliation.
Trains and provides direction to student aides and other interns working at Harper Wellness. Assists in the hiring and evaluation of student aides and interns.
Maintains day-to-day logistics and communications for the Harper College Bike Share Program.
Maintains inventory of supplies and orders supplies as needed. This includes promotional items for events, office supplies, print materials, and program and event supplies.
Works with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and civil manner while appreciating the unique contribution of individuals from varied cultures, race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Follows privacy and confidentiality guidelines with student information.
Represents Harper Wellness on campus and community committees / coalitions and advises student clubs or organizations, such as the Buddy System, as needed.
Performs related duties and projects as assigned.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements :
This position is part-time, 29 hours per week, requiring in-person and remote work. The work hours will be flexible Monday through Friday, between 8 am and 4 : 30 pm, with occasional evenings and Saturdays. Work may require some physical activity and movement related to indoor and outdoor event needs (i.e., ability to lift 50 pounds and stoop and / or bend).
Qualifications
Education : High school graduate or equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred.
Experience : Two years' general office experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Proof reading skills and bookkeeping / accounting experience preferred. Experience with health promotion, wellness education or student affairs in higher education preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, including being comfortable with public speaking. Ability to work collaboratively with others.
