Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ASE certification) are highly desirable. Previous teaching or training experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive systems, repair techniques, and diagnostic tools. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population New Jersey Sick Leave : Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year. We are seeking a part-time Automotive Technology Teaching Professional who will report to the Dean of Technical Studies. This person will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in automotive technology courses to students at Passaic County Community College at the Passaic Campus. The instructor will engage students in both theory and hands-on learning experiences and in various aspects of automotive repair and maintenance. This position will work both independently and in a small instructional team to deliver a quality automotive technology program for students.
This is a part-time, hourly position.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and deliver course curriculum in accordance with college guidelines and accreditation standards.
- Teach automotive technology courses, including but not limited to engine repair, electrical systems, and automotive diagnostics.
- Provide hands-on instruction in a lab setting, ensuring students gain practical skills.
- Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, and practical exams.
- Maintain a safe and effective learning environment in the automotive lab.
- Stay current with automotive industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with instructional team members to enhance the automotive program.
- Assist students in understanding career pathways and opportunities in the automotive field.
Qualifications :
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation : Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay rate for this position is $26.
