Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at Loma Linda University & be involved with education & teaching of medical students, residents & other providers. Position Details : The physician will be responsible for delivering primary care within an Interdisciplinary Team model to a diverse population of veterans who suffer from a variety of medical problems (e.g., dementia, delirium, urinary incontinence, falls, wounds, COPD, CHF, diabetes mellitus, etc.). The duties will include the evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic medical problems, the completion of physical examinations, the initiation of consultations to specialty services, the ordering of diagnostic studies (e.g., laboratory tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms, etc.), the performance of health promotion and disease prevention, providing education and counseling to veterans and their families, recommending diagnostic and therapeutic treatment options (e.g., medications), and completing documentation in the medical record in accordance with bylaws and rules and regulations of the Medical Staff. Board certification or Board eligible in Geriatric Medicine, or Internal Medicine, is preferred.
