Possess deep knowledge of modern datacenter and cloud architectures (compute, storage, networking, security, virtualization). Have hands-on experience in secure / classified environments : architecting and executing migrations, standing up new enclaves, or supporting tactical deployments. Understand mission-specific requirements including air-gapped operations, cross-domain solutions, and resiliency under contested conditions. Are fluent in compliance frameworks : DoD STIGs, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP High, DoD IL4IL6, ICD 503. Can confidently engage with senior decision-makers across the DoD / IC and build trusted relationships as a peer, not just a vendor. Are comfortable working in startup / scale-up environments, balancing execution with entrepreneurial problem solving. Dont mind coworkers getting really excited about decades-old computers.
Cloud computing has transformed the commercial sector, but in the U.S. Government - particularly the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) - mission workloads demand secure, sovereign, and on-premises solutions that hyperscale rental models cannot deliver.
Oxide has built the first vertically integrated, rack-level cloud computer, delivering the automation, developer experience, and efficiency of the public cloud in a form factor designed for classified, tactical, and mission-critical environments.
We are seeking a Solutions Architect to partner with our Federal sales and product teams, acting as both trusted sales engineer and enterprise architect. You will be at the front line of Oxides Federal expansion - shaping architectures, driving technical wins, and enabling deployment of Oxide systems across the DoD and IC.
As a Solutions Architect for Oxides Federal team, you will :
- Serve as the trusted technical advisor in senior executive conversations, engaging mission owners, program managers, and enterprise architects.
- Develop and own Oxide technical thought leadership. Lead architecture sessions, workshops, proof-of-concepts, and pilot deployments within classified and tactical environments.
- Guide customers journey from legacy cloud and on-prem infrastructure - through VMware exits, cloud repatriation, hybrid deployments, and AI / ML workload enablement in secure enclaves.
- Support the Authority to Operate (ATO) process by delivering security artifacts, architecture diagrams, and compliance mappings (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP High, DoD IL4 / IL5 / IL6, IC standards).
- Partner with Defense Primes, integrators, and mission programs to embed Oxide into larger system-of-systems solutions.
- Own the technical response to RFPs, RFIs, and BAAs, ensuring Oxides differentiated design is clearly articulated.
- Provide mission feedback to Oxide engineering, influencing platform roadmap priorities for air-gapped, tactical edge, and multi-domain operations.
- Build repeatable playbooks, reference architectures, and compliance packages that accelerate adoption across multiple agencies.
