TITLE : Site Coordinator - Afterschool Program

OPENING DATE : November 18, 2024

LOCATIONS : Atlanta Unbound Academy (1025 McDonough Blvd SE Atlanta, GA 30316)

EMPLOYMENT STATUS : Part Time W2

SALARY RANGE : $18 to $20 per hour depending upon experience

SCHEDULE : Monday-Friday, 2 : 30pm-5 : 30pm

JOB SUMMARY :

Our Afterschool curriculum is designed to be actively engaging for children and includes daily enrichment classes, homework assistance, recreation / mentorship, and snack time.

The Afterschool Site Coordinator must exude a servant leadership personality, team building, children supervision, and coordination of the Enrichment programs for the after-school program. At times, you may lead a group of approximately 15 students, which includes guiding their daily schedule and ensuring that they have what the need to be academically successful.

The purpose of this role is to provide effective leadership, supervision, and support to program staff members, students, parents and volunteers within a structured program setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining positive relations with school personnel, administration, students and parents
  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, students, and volunteers
  • Work productively as a member of a team
  • Be able to work efficiently without constant directives. Be an initiator.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude at all times.
  • Exemplifies the organizations value statements, vision and mission in all actions, communications and relationships
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director

SITE ADMINISTRATION

  • Overall program planning and coordination consistent with the needs and abilities of the children in that region.
  • Manage program budget; submit purchase orders to order program supplies, materials and equipment.
  • Consistently enforce established policies, program criteria, procedures, standards and rules.
  • Maintaining facility, supplies, and equipment in excellent, clean and safe condition.
  • Design and Manage staff work schedules and when necessary find substitute staff or fill in personally.
  • Monitor and support daily snack and breakfast according to DOA guidelines.
  • Maintain student records and confidentiality of all children, parents, and staff.
  • Conduct orientation of new staff.
  • Conducting weekly site staff meetings.
  • Submit required reports and records on time.
  • Participation in Site Coordinator meetings, other staff meetings, workshops, etc. as assigned by the Executive Director
  • PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Providing a stable, fun, caring, learning environment for the program.
  • Implementation of established behavioral expectations and discipline procedures.
  • Maintenance of a positive, open and friendly attitude and work atmosphere.
  • Keeping supervisor informed of plans, progress, problems, concerns, and successes.
  • Staff supervision, and as assigned by supervisor, staff development, including performance conferences and planning.
  • Substituting for program staff as needed.
  • Assist with daily preparation, clean-up, and activities as needed.
  • Inform supervisor immediately of any suspected child physical or sexual abuse.
  • Special programs, events and activities as assigned by supervisor
  • KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills, including written, oral and presentation
  • Ability to provide effective leadership, training and guidance to staff
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population : multi-cultural, age, gender, etc
  • Ability to act as a positive role model by displaying appropriate professional behavior
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Experience working with school-age children in a semi-structured setting
  • Program planning and management experience
  • Previous experience with staff supervision, demonstrated leadership ability and management experience required
  • Current Standard First Aid Certification / Infant, Child & Adult CPR Certification
  • A valid drivers license with an available vehicle for work is required
  • WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Possesses adequate vision, hearing acuity, physical ability, strength and stamina to perform the required responsibilities of activates associated with program delivery
  • The selection process may include interviews, skills testing, practical evaluations, personality assessments, etc. Background checks are required.

    LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

    Current Standard First Aid Certification / Child & Adult CPR Certification preferred but not required . A valid drivers license with an available vehicle for work is required .
