Position Summary
Under the direction of the Health Center Manager, the Assistant Health Center Manager is responsible for providing direct affirming and culturally responsive supervision for Health Care Assistants and supporting the implementation of clinic operations initiatives to ensure that daily health center operations are executed in accordance with organizational expectations, values, and medical guidelines and protocols.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Essential Duties
- Support the agency’s mission and all medical services provided at PPSO health centers including family planning services, women’s health screenings, STI and HIV testing and treatment services, contraceptive services and in-clinic and abortion by pill services.
- Manage patient flow and health center daily operations to minimize patient wait time and ensure all staff receive timely breaks and rest periods in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Actively participate in direct clinical reproductive health care while adhering to Medical Standards and Guidelines, and Clinical Policies and Procedures.
- Collaborate with the Health Center Manager (HCM) and Call Center to ensure appropriate scheduling of patients.
- Work with HCM to develop the health center budget and provide monthly oversight of key performance indicators.
- Collect, analyze, and report on health center business and statistical data to identify trends and areas for improvement; Interpret and share data with health center staff.
- Partner with the HCM to identify new customer service and process priorities for the year; participate in the health center annual planning process.
- Collaborate interdepartmentally as necessary to ensure :
- The health center is compliant with all regulatory and quality standards.
- The health center facility and equipment are in proper working order.
- Staff members are accessing and receiving all materials to keep knowledge current.
- Billing issues are delegated and addressed responsively and accurately.
- Adhere to affiliate goals and policies on professionalism, wait time in-clinic and on the phone, and the system for addressing client complaints.
- Work directly with patients to provide information and referral, schedule appointments, and perform receptionist duties as needed.

Leadership and Management
Participate in the recruitment and selection of personnel for the health center.Partner with the HCM to ensure that new and existing staff are fully trained and set up for success.Coordinate scheduling of clinical staff and ensure time records are accurate and approved on time.Serve as a role model to staff and peers in business ethics and clinic operations.Provide consultation, problem solving and monitoring of performances and evaluations.Recommend and implement training needs, employee corrective actions, probation or termination as indicated in personnel policies.Participate in agency initiatives through work groups outside of the center as required.Support and lead change management within the Health Centers.Equity and Culture

Minimum Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.At least one (1) year of managerial experience in an office or medical setting.At least one (1) year of customer service or administrative experience.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, business administration or related fields.Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.Previous experience working in reproductive and sexual health or women’s health field.Current Certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Assisting.Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.Professional Competencies
