Director, Business Development - Games and Entertainment
Mob Entertainment is a startup multimedia studio that is best known for our hit indie horror game "Poppy Playtime". This franchise is one of the hottest new properties in gaming, and our team is naturally expanding as our ambition expands. To give a taste of our brand's popularity, more than 100 billion YouTube views of Poppy Playtime related content have occurred since the game's launch 4 years ago.
Role Overview
As Director of Business Development, you will be the driving force behind our growth strategy. You'll identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships, licensing deals, and new revenue opportunities that expand the reach and profitability of our games. Working closely with executive leadership, you'll play a key role in shaping the company's business vision and ensuring long-term success in a highly competitive industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's business development strategy to support short- and long-term growth.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities including publishing agreements, co-development partnerships, platform deals, and IP licensing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with publishers, platform holders, investors, and third-party studios.
- Negotiate and structure contracts, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with company goals.
- Collaborate with internal teams (production, marketing, finance, legal) to ensure successful execution of partnership agreements.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to inform strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Provide regular updates and reports to executive leadership on pipeline, partnerships, and revenue projections.
Qualifications
7+ years of business development or strategic partnership experience in the video game, entertainment, or tech industry.Proven track record of negotiating and closing deals that drive measurable business growth.Strong network across publishers, platform holders, and / or entertainment companies.Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.Deep understanding of video game industry trends, monetization models, and distribution channels.Strong analytical skills and ability to turn market insights into actionable strategies.Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA a plus).What We Offer
