Foxborough Regional Charter School District (FRCS) is a unique and diverse school serving students from across Southeastern Massachusetts. Position Overview :
The Nurse plays a central role in ensuring that our students are healthy and the school is in full compliance with the state. In addition to treating students and maintaining health records, the Nurse functions as the primary contact person for all health-related issues. In this role, the Nurse must be able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and families.
Responsibilities :
- Provide direct and appropriate nursing care to students; assessment, treatment, planning, intervention, evaluation, management, and referral as indicated.
- Administer first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed.
- Manage the storage and administration of medications according to district policies.
- Conduct mandatory health screenings and track immunization compliance.
- Develop care plans for students with chronic health conditions, including asthma, allergies, and diabetes.
- Educate students on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Serve as a health resource for parents, providing updates and guidance on their children's health issues.
- Coordinate with local health agencies for infectious disease management and health promotion.
- Maintain accurate student health records and ensure confidentiality under federal and state law.
- Administer daily and PRN (as needed) medications and nursing care procedures prescribed by the student's health care provider and in accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
- Implement and record required screening programs; notify parents when further medical evaluation is indicated.
- Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in the development of 504 or IEPs as indicated

Current MA Registered Nurse License.Minimum of 2 full years of employment as a Registered Nurse, preferably in pediatrics, emergency, community health, public health, or other relevant clinical nursing settingCurrent CPR / AED certification from a recognized provider.Required to be SEI Endorsed within one year of employmentDeep commitment to DEI and anti-bias, anti-racist approaches to education and service.Strong problem-solving skills and interpersonal abilities.Candidates are subject to background checks, including CORI Clearance and Fingerprinting.Current authorization to work in the United StatesCandidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.Qualifications- Preferred :
Bachelor's Degree in NursingSchool Nurse License (All Levels) from the MA State Dept. of Education.MA DESE School Nurse License;Experience in an urban school environment.Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and priorities, and maintain a flexible schedule.Proficiency in multiple languages, reflecting our diverse student populationWork Environment & Physical Requirements :
The majority of work is performed in a school or classroom environment, which usually has a moderate noise level. Regular attendance is necessary; absences should be rare and in alignment with district attendance and punctuality standards.
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand while talking and listening. The teacher is occasionally required to sit, walk, lift, or carry.
