Software Engineer Manager

At Regions, the Software Engineer Manager oversees application development for a department or group within the company.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of system design, development, deployment, acquisition, and ongoing maintenance for all application systems within areas of responsibility
  • Develops technology solutions that increase the efficiency of internal business functions, resolves business problems, and supports the pursuit of business opportunities for areas of responsibility
  • Creates and refines operational processes and systems to ensure effective regulatory and audit compliance
  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
  • Evaluates customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrates technical parameters, and assures compatibility of all interfaces
  • Supports the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements through management processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Six (6) years of relevant experience
  • Experience as a team leader
  • Preferences

  • Experience in a Technology role in banking or a financial services industry

  • The Software Engineer Manager position will be responsible for managing at least 2 Fraud AD Agile teams, and also be able to provide technical guidance to the teams regarding design, technology standards and guidelines
  • Previous experience managing teams is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work closely with Business Stakeholders, Scrum Master, POs, and Architects to fully understand the business requirements and help the Dev teams to transform requests into technical requirements needed to deliver features / work
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and strong organization and communication skills
  • Preferred knowledge of Financial Crime Unit (FCU) processes such as fraud detection, AML, KYC, and transaction monitoring

  • C# (.NET Framework and .NET Core)
  • Experience with microservices architecture (RESTful and event-based)

  • This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.

    Compensation Details

    Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include : experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

    The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

    Minimum : $131,788.25 USD

    Median : $168,040.00 USD

    Incentive Pay Plans :

    This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and / or company performance. Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
