As a Direct Support Professional youll build trusted relationships and provide personalized support that honors each persons strengths choices and goals. Whether its celebrating small wins encouraging independence or simply being present youll be part of the moments that truly matter.â

At Gallagher Services - a Catholic Charities program we believe that every person deserves a life filled with meaning independence and relationships that matter. We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals.ââ

Gallagher Services provides residential and day support for people with intellectual disabilities funded by DDA. Residential homes located in Anne Arundel Baltimore and Harford Counties and Baltimore City. Residential support includes independent living 24-hour supervised care assisted living and retirement programs and life care and nursing. Limited Respite services are also available. Day services also provided including work readiness vocational training supported employment and creative day activities. An Adult Medical Day Center provides higher levels of nursing and supervision services for individuals with more intensive medical needs.

Work Schedule : ââ Friday Saturday and Sunday (3PM-11PM)

A Day in the Life : ââ

Youll spend your days assisting with care to a group of people who enjoy : âââ

  • Listening to music
  • Going out to eat
  • Going shopping ââ
  • Going bowling
  • Watching family feud and Dr. Phil
  • Visiting the library

How Youll Support : ââ

  • Support with daily routines such as bathing dressing and personal care in a way that promotes dignity independence and choice.ââ
  • Support people in preparing meals of their choice encouraging healthy eating habits and maintaining a clean and comfortable kitchen environmentwhile promoting independence and personal preferences.â
  • Be patient and respectful in action and speakingâ
  • Advocate for each persons rights and help build their confidence and sense of selfââ
  • Keep clear respectful records to ensure continuity of care and supportââ

    • Minimum Requirements : ââ

  • Must be at least 21 years oldââ
  • Valid drivers license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 pointsââ
  • Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairsââ
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds stand for long periods and provide physical assistance when neededââ
  • Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)ââ
