Work Environment : The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner provides care in diverse settings, including hospitals, palliative care clinics, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and long-term acute care centers. As a PRN provider, the Nurse Practitioner is expected to average 8 hours a week and is expected to participate in afterhours call rotation 4 weeks per year. Typical weekday is 8 : 00 AM-4 : 00 PM.
Physical Demands : This position requires moderate to intense visual concentration for reading, computer use, and reviewing patient charts. There is a potential risk of exposure to infectious diseases, requiring adherence to standard precautions. The Nurse Practitioner must have the mobility to ambulate and the ability to lift or assist in lifting patients, with or without devices, in excess of 75 pounds, using proper body mechanics.
