Acquires basic knowledge and develops basic skills through mentored experience. Applies learned knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasks. Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience. Entry / 0+ B.S. or M.S. Engineering Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer-in-training (EIT) certification. Collects data and gathers information or documents. Participates in laboratory testing and field investigations. Performs basic computations or analysis. Assists with preparation of engineering deliverables. Observes construction activities. Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope. No managerial responsibilities at this level. Receives close supervision on all aspects of assignments. Receives mentorship from a licensed engineer. Possesses basic oral and written communication skills. Identifies and acknowledges principles of teamwork and leadership. Interacts primarily with internal project team members. Description
GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking an EIT - Engineer in Training to work out of our Homestead, Cranberry, or Southpointe, PA office. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their college education and related work experience to develop professionally into a well-rounded engineer with the ability to grow in today's global environment.
Job Duties :
- Assist in water / wastewater process and pipeline design projects for industrial and municipal clients.
- Assist in Civil Engineering design and calculations for water, wastewater, and stormwater components of Land Development projects.
- Participates in technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications, and technical plans.
- Filling out and completing permit applications for processing.
- Field work may include water sampling, site inspection, and construction administration support including completing field observation reports.
- Prepare plans utilizing AutoDesk Civil 3D.
