Job Title : Street Outreach Worker

Location : Alexandria VA

Duration : 13 Months (Contract)

Work Setting : 100% On-Site Field-Based

Position Overview

Navitas Partners LLC is seeking Street Outreach Worker for an exciting job in Alexandria VA.

Responsibilities

Deliver strengths-based case management for individuals pursuing permanent housing.

Assist clients with housing applications and help address barriers to housing stability.

Conduct outreach in community locations such as streets encampments hospitals jails and public areas.

Support drop-in center operations on a rotating schedule alongside shelter case management staff.

Maintain accurate case documentation and data entry using the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

Work Environment & Schedule

Field-based role; majority of work occurs outside of an office setting (on foot or via agency vehicle).

Strictly on-site not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Full-time schedule 8-hour shifts between 8 : 00 AM 7 : 00 PM based on program needs.

Overtime may be required as needed.

Driving required as part of daily responsibilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.

Background working with populations facing behavioral health disorders and / or substance dependence.

Strong ability to engage individuals in non-traditional settings (encampments streets hospitals jails etc.).

Proficient in crisis intervention and counseling techniques.

Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.

Basic computer proficiency and experience with HMIS or similar data systems.

Bachelors degree in Social Work Psychology Human Services or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in street outreach case management or direct homeless services.
