We are seeking a highly skilled ETL and Data Warehouse Test Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of our data flows and transformations within a cloud-based data warehouse environment. The ideal candidate has expertise in ETL testing, data validation, and automation, with hands-on experience in Azure, Snowflake, and Talend. This position will play a key role in supporting continuous integration and deployment by implementing robust testing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Test Planning and Strategy : Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scripts for ETL processes, data warehouse structures, and integrations.
  • ETL and Data Warehouse Testing : Conduct end-to-end testing of ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and transformation integrity.
  • Regression Testing : Design and perform regression tests to maintain the stability of data pipelines across updates.
  • Platform Expertise : Validate data pipelines, transformations, and warehousing solutions using Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, etc.) and Snowflake.
  • Data Quality and Integrity : Define completeness, accuracy, and consistency specifications, monitor data quality, and implement corrective actions.
  • Automation and Scripting : Develop and maintain automated test scripts for ETL validation using tools like Talend.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with data engineers, architects, and business analysts to ensure thorough test coverage.
  • Reporting and Documentation : Track and document defects, issues, and enhancements, keeping stakeholders informed.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Data Vault Methodologies
  • Expertise in database design principles (referential integrity, normalization, indexing)
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to developers, product managers, and business partners
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related fields
  • 5+ years of professional experience in data test engineering

    • Preferred

  • 3+ years working with large datasets and various data sources
  • Data Vault 2.0 methodology
  • Power BI, SQL, and experience in cloud-based environments (IaaS / SaaS / PaaS)

    • Additional Details

    The base range for this contract position is $60.00 - $70.00 / per hour depending on experience.

    Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
