Facilities Technician II
Role : Facilities Technician II
Location : Onsite in Garland, TX
Rate : 21 / hr
Duration : Long Term W2 Contract
Responsibilities :
- Repairing and making improvements to building and infrastructure
- Supporting and maintaining fire protection systems
- Maintaining the distribution centers HVAC system
- Maintaining and repairing distribution center racking
- Metal and wood fabrications, including welding
- Repairing and maintaining material handling equipment
- Repairing and maintaining building pneumatic system
- Maintaining automated conveyor system
- Completing preventative maintenance routines, documentation and procedures
- Tracking and storing the departments inventory, including spare parts
- Supporting continuous improvement in department and DC
Physical Demands :
Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walkingLifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 80 poundsDexterity in eye / hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion / rotation)Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes / odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfacesOperation Support & Customer Service :
Promoting and conduct good housekeeping practicesFlexibility with work hours and days. (24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation, including holidays)Position is required to be on-call on a rotating basis, including holidays and weekendsDedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer focused mannerMust be highly self-motivated and customer-centricBasic Qualifications :
Experience and proficiency in the following areas :Automated conveyor systems and controlsElectrical and electronic principlesBlueprint and electrical schematic readingRepair of material handling equipmentHVAC maintenance and repairPreventative maintenance proceduresHigh school diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications :
Ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workloadAbility to work successfully with little supervisionAbility to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendorsDegree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
