Summary

As an emergency medical professional, you will administer immediate medical care to victims of accidents, violence, and sudden illnesses, such as cardiac arrests or strokes. You will provide both pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until the patient is handed over to the accepting medical facility.

Job Duties :

• Represent the ambulance service during public events and provide ambulance standby services when necessary.
• Document full assessments and treatments using patient care charting software.
• Cater to patients in psychiatric, medical, and trauma crises by providing appropriate medical and therapeutic care.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Operate advanced life support equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators and external defibrillators.
• Assess injury or illness to establish a medical intervention plan, prioritizing stabilization and transportation of victims.
• Respond to dispatcher instructions and operate emergency vehicles safely to designated locations.
• Administer medications via injection, intravenous lines, or oral routes following physician directives.
• Communicate effectively with medical personnel to receive treatment instructions.
• Ensure cleanliness and decontamination of the ambulance after caring for patients with infectious diseases and report as necessary.

Physical Demands :

Lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances. Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching involved.
