Job Details

We are seeking a Senior R&D Manager to join our team in the Food Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent role that offers the opportunity to drive innovation and product development in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in food manufacturing and formulation, with a deep understanding of FDA and USDA regulations. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, customer-facing experience, and the ability to lead and participate in plant trials, pilot runs, and product scale-ups.

Responsibilities :

1. Overseeing the entire product development process, from concept to commercialization.

2. Ensuring compliance with all FDA and USDA regulations and guidelines, as well as working knowledge of global regulations.

3. Leading and coordinating plant trials, pilot runs, and product scale-ups, analyzing results, and implementing improvements.

4. Collaborating with operations, QA, regulatory, procurement, marketing, and sales teams to identify customer needs and market trends.

5. Developing and implementing R&D strategies and initiatives that align with company objectives.

6. Managing and mentoring R&D team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

7. Interacting with customers to understand their needs and expectations, and ensuring that our products meet or exceed these.

8. Working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure seamless transition from product development to production.

9. Providing technical expertise and support to other departments as needed.

Qualifications :

1. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.

2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in an R&D role in the food manufacturing industry. Leadership experience is also required.

3. In-depth knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations.

4. Proven experience in product development and formulation.

5. Demonstrated leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.

6. Experience in conducting and overseeing plant trials and pilot runs.

7. Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.

8. Comfortable working in lab and manufacturing environments.

9. Willingness to travel ~25%.
