Must Haves :

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field (Associate’s Degree or relevant certifications considered with equivalent experience)

Minimum 7+ years of hands-on HES (Health, Environment & Safety) experience, including managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste

Working knowledge of state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, DOT,

Class D license for potable water operator or ability to obtain one

Certified forklift operator

Strong leadership skills and proven commitment to safety and environmental excellence

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Position Overview

The Sr. Environmental Specialist will play a key role in managing the site’s solid waste programs and supporting Quality Control (QC) lab operations to ensure full compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role is responsible for upholding AIMS HESQ policies and practices including ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO-45001, and RCMS, while ensuring all local, state, and federal requirements are met.

You will work closely with the Site Environmental Engineer , as well as other safety and environmental professionals across multiple locations, to drive environmental initiatives, training, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all solid waste activities , including hazardous and non-hazardous materials handling, disposal, and documentation

Oversee potable water, stormwater, and wastewater discharge requirements

Perform and complete routine and special analytical sampling as required

Support and maintain the site’s safety, quality, and environmental programs in alignment with corporate and regulatory standards

Lead and participate in initiatives to improve safety, environmental compliance, reliability, and cost performance

Provide guidance and training to ensure compliance with ISO and regulatory standards

Act as a resource for plant operations in achieving environmental goals and maintaining high performance in HESQ areas
