Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain database system software, ensuring robust security and performance.
  • Monitor and analyze database performance to ensure optimal utilization and availability.
  • Maintain database dictionaries, support tools, and accurate system documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of strategic, architectural, and tactical plans for database and data warehouse environments.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship on database systems and tools.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve database performance and reliability.
  • Implement business continuity and disaster recovery solutions, including replication and backup strategies.
  • Establish and enforce database standards and best practices.
  • Participate in a 24 / 7 on-call support rotation.

Qualifications :

  • 4+ years of Greenplum administration experience, including performance tuning and optimization ofplex SQL queries for large data sets.
  • Hands-on experience with Greenplum tools, including : MADlib, PXF, GPCC, gpfdist, gpload, gpbackup, gprestore, gpdr backup, and gpdr restore.
  • Strong SQL development skills and experience with data warehousing environments.
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting, Python, and working in UNIX / Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools such as IBM DataStage or similar.
  • Automation-minded with a focus on streamlining database operations.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Exposure to containerization (, Docker, Kubernetes) and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Databricks and Spark-based data processing.
