About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer of Student Housing to take on a pivotal role in the strategic and operational management of its student housing portfolio across North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and building an operating platform, including the design of policies and procedures, staff recruitment, and the procurement and implementation of software and systems. This role demands a primary leader for day-to-day property operations, with a focus on driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and ensuring a high-quality resident experience that aligns with the company's brand and investment goals.
Key responsibilities for the Chief Operating Officer include overseeing the operational platform, governance, facilities management, and capex, as well as financial and portfolio performance. The role also involves leadership in resident experience and brand management, stakeholder engagement, and risk management. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred), at least 15 years' of experience in real estate operations, with a strong preference for those with a background in student housing, multifamily, or hospitality. A proven track record in managing large, geographically diverse portfolios, strong financial acumen, and exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills are essential for this position.
