Security Specialist
You will prepare written security reports to provide information to decision makers.
You will process contractors / vendors for local business / contractor base access passes, history of pass issuance to ensure that the individual is authorized short term access to the installation.
You will receive and process Sponsored Visitor Forms.
You will generate reports in support of security operations using automated databases or programs.
You will ensure proper records storage safeguards are in place and records are archived / destroyed and disseminated.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and / or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
This position requires rotating shift work.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing clerical and administrative duties such as preparing and maintaining security files and records, drafting routine correspondence relating to security, and providing customer service in support of security programs.
In lieu of general / specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience : Successfully completed four years of education above high school.
