PreK-5 Interventionist and Instructional Coach

INTERVENTIONIST JOB GOAL : Provide targeted small group in instruction through push-in or pull-out models based on student data. Responsible for monitoring reporting and communicating student progress and PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES : targeted small-group reading and math instruction based on student learning goals and aligned with MA Curriculum Frameworks student student data to establish student learning targets and goals through the intervention cycle. for monitoring reporting and communicating student progress and performance. 4. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and learning styles of with Building Principals CIA Leads and Director of Curriculum to implement the Title I Targeted Assistance / Intervention Program and prepares assessments plans and reports as required. support for the Title I Targeted Assistance / Intervention Program and works with paraprofessionals and classroom teachers in coordinating reading and math support. facilitate the transition of elementary students to the middle level in terms of reading and math support services. parents informed of students progress. Interacts regularly with parents and parental support and coordinates events in conjunction with the building principal Interventionists CIA Leads and Curriculum Director. accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative COACH JOB GOAL : The Instructional Coach is a critical lever in improving student achievement. The role of the Instructional Coach is to build teacher capacity and their understanding of instructional practices as related to MA Curriculum Frameworks district curriculum standards and data driven instruction. An Instructional Coach is a teacher leader who models continuous improvement lifelong learning and goes above and beyond to ensure student success. All Instructional Coaches work collaboratively as a team with teachers interventionists Principals and Directors. Instructional Coaches will promote reflection provide guidance and structure where needed and focus on strengths collaboration and common issues of concern based on data and research-based educational practices. They are responsible for supporting high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling co-planning co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers. INSTRUCTIONAL COACHPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES : the instructional development of all teachers in understanding the district grade-level standards-based curriculum and varied assessments the MA Curriculum Frameworks and data and demonstrate research based culturally responsive practices that result in increased student performance and improved classroom environment strong relationships with teachers interventionists paraprofessionals administrators and other Curriculum & Instruction Leads. direction and coordination for how the curriculum is taught consistent with District initiatives and research-based culturally responsive practices. lessons in classrooms on a daily / weekly basis. ensure consistency and seamless transitions of programming and instruction among and between grade and coordinate grade-level curriculum design development and documentation to be maintained in District Curriculum Google teachers in understanding the District mission visioncore values and strategic plan. technical support to collaborative teams within buildings. teachers with resources materials tools information etc. to support classroom instruction and planning including new resources. teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction on all levels. teachers with planning and pacing of units / lessons the development of differentiated lessons and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of all students. teachers by helping with the strategic how of teaching. Share multiple instructional strategies / processes with and support teachers with curriculum software products and classroom / curriculum related technologies observe (non-evaluative) lessons and provide feedback for a teachers professional growth and students success. staff members knowledge skills attitudes and behaviors through a variety of professional development targeted topics and designs. coaching plans for teachers to ensure student improvement. Adult Learning Theory to motivate adult learners to improve professional practice. to the development systems and structures to improve teacher practice within schools. job-embedded informal professional learning beyond the coaching responsibility. and provide ongoing Professional as a learner in professional summer training sessions. Universal Screening and grade-level data analysis at least 3 times per tutorials / supports for parents / caretakers integrating district instructional technology tools that students use at in department school district and parent a digital daily / weekly coaching log and any pertinent data requests / coaching an articulated schedule with building & district administration. timely and consistent communication between teachers and related duties as directed by the building principals and / or the Director of Curriculum This is NOT a supervisory position and DOES NOT include evaluation of colleagues. REPORTS TO : Curriculum Director & PrincipalsTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : In accordance with the existing bargaining agreement with Unit A of the Somerset Teachers Association.
