POSITION : INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT PARAPROFESSIONAL / MLL

JOB GOAL : The Instructional Support Paraprofessional (SSP) will support educators by working with Multilingual Learners (MLL) in general education and special education settings to enable them to access the curriculum. Additionally this person will assist in providing students with social-emotional support that is not limited to classroom settings but may also apply to lunch recess and less academic spaces. Lastly this person will assist in some written and verbal communication to families.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Associates Degree Required; Bachelors Degree Preferred
• Experience working with children
• Ability to coordinate with and work as a member of a team that includes Principal MLL Teachers Classroom Teachers Special Educators other building staff related service personnel clinicians and parents
• Experience with and demonstrated ability to support Multilingual Learners.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : 183 Days. 7 hours per day

REPORTS TO : MLL Director and Building Principal

SALARY / BENEFITS : Per AEA Unit D Collective Bargaining Agreement. Eligible for benefits including health insurance dental insurance and life insurance and Town of Arlington Retirement System.
