Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
Location – Martinsburg, WV region
- Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within a daily commutable distance of this area.
Our client, a well-established, family-owned utilities construction company, is seeking an experienced, dependable, professional Certified Wastewater Plant Operator to join their plant operations team in the Morgan, Berkeley & Jefferson County region.
The Hiring Company is seeking candidates who have supervisory experience within the Wastewater plant industry or an individual who is seeking a growth position with the qualifications described below.The department assists with the operation and maintenance of approximately 20 plants in this area. Daily travel in company vehicle between plants.
Qualifications :
Holds a minimum of a Class S or higher Wastewater Treatment Operator CertificationOIT or Class I certification in drinking water and / or wastewater operations is a plusAbilities to troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, electric & gas motorsStrong background in pumps, plumbing & minor electricalFamiliar with coagulants, flocculants and general wastewater chemistryKnowledge of pH adjustment and clarificationKnowledge of metal precipitation and media filtrationMust be able to lift / carry 50lbs unassisted; Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb and twist continuously throughout the dayDependable with the ability to work independently, safely, and efficientlyValid driver’s license (MVR will be checked for company insurance policy)Pre-employment background and drug testing will be requiredResponsibilities :
Travel to multiple plants daily to inspect, collect and test water and sewage samplesComplete plant mechanical maintenance on Water and Steam Systems, Pump Houses and ancillary equipmentUse computerized systems to monitor plant processesOperate treatment plants and apparatus, cleaning screens and filters, adding chemicals, monitoring gas and water levels, taking readingsAbide by strict federal and state laws of water qualityResponsible for all documentation and paperwork per DEP, OSHA, ISO, DOT and company standardsCompensation & Scheduled Overview :
