Place of Performance- These services will be performed in the Health Services Department at FCI Englewood located at : FCI Englewood 9595 W. Quincy Ave Littleton, CO 80123
Schedule : A session is defined as one hour. The contractor will normally provide 1 individual, an estimated of two (2), eight (8) hour sessions per week. Specific days / hours will be subject to mutual agreement between the Health Services Administrator (HSA) and the Contractor. Services will normally be performed between 6 : 00 A.M. and 2 : 30 P.M., on the specified days during the week excluding Federal Holidays. The schedule services will include a (30 min) half hour unpaid lunch break.
Minimum Qualifications : Contractor shall possess the necessary skills, abilities, and credentials to perform services of a Medical Laboratory Technician (occupational code 12130). All below listed information shall be provided prior to being accepted for work at FCI Englewood. The Medical Laboratory Technician assigned to FCI Englewood by the Contractor must possess the following qualifications :
Scope of Services : The services performed by the Medical Laboratory Technician shall include, but not limited to the following : The Contractor shall be required to perform a variety of routine tests and laboratory procedures for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. The Contractor will be required to conduct urinalysis, clinical chemistry tests and blood counts, prepare tissue samples for study by medical technologist or pathologist, prepare chemical reagent stains and solutions, tend automatic equipment to prepare specimens and perform analytical tests, make preliminary identification of bacterial cultures subject to confirmation of supervisor, maintain laboratory stock of chemicals anglasswareand collect specimens from patients.
The Contractor will be required to perform basic blood draws for AIC’s, spin down blood, prepare and package specimens for shipping, and deliver subject shipping containers to the FCI front lobby for shipment. The Contractor shall be required to draw blood in open, semi-open and locked units, which will require direct contact with AIC’s. of supervisor, maintain laboratory stock of chemicals and glassware, and collect specimens from patients.

The Contractor shall be responsible for keeping the lab neatly organized, maintaining the needle / syringe inventory, properly documenting lab request logs, completing related paperwork and filing, and conducting routine equipment checks. The contractor will be required to collect data relating to laboratory efforts (usage, types of labs studies, prompt receipt of orders and timely return of results by our contract labs, etc.). The Contractor must be able to work effectively with both staff and AIC’s in the performance of contract services.
