Summary of Responsibilities

Were looking for a warm, detail-oriented candidate with strong people skills to join our team as a Remodeling Design Consultant. In this role, youll be one of the first points of contact for new clientshelping them feel heard, inspired, and confident as they begin their remodeling journey. Youll guide the design process from initial consultation through selections and proposal presentations, collaborating closely with our team to deliver thoughtful, high-quality results. From developing layouts and curating finishes to attending walkthroughs and maintaining relationships after the project wraps, youll play a key role in shaping not just beautiful spaces, but exceptional client experiences. This position blends interior design, relationship-building, and salesideal for someone who thrives in a team-oriented, high-touch, design-build environment.

Essential Functions

  • Client Discovery & Relationship Building : Take a leading role in early client engagement by participating in in-home consultations. Uncover each clients goals, style, vision, and budget to build trust from the start.
  • Design Development & Selections : Guide clients through the creative process, from space planning and plan development to curated material selections, mood boards, and showroom visits. Deliver personalized, cohesive solutions that reflect each clients lifestyle and aspirations.
  • Guiding Clients Through Informed Decisions : Confidently present design concepts and detailed project proposals. Help clients make important decisions and translate design solutions into clear project plans that align with budget goals.
  • Client Outreach & Lead Generation : Take initiative in generating new business by reconnecting with past clients, nurturing referral relationships, and proactively checking in to ensure satisfaction and uncover future needs. Maintain a consistent rhythm of outreach via calls, messages, and personal touchpoints to cultivate trust and uncover opportunities. Your role is as much about keeping relationships alive as it is about creating beautiful spaces.
  • Project Support & Seamless Experience : Maintain proactive communication during construction. Attend preconstruction meetings, in-progress walkthroughs, and key milestones to ensure the design intent is accurately implemented, and clients feel informed, supported, and cared for every step of the way.
  • Team Collaboration & Project Handoff : Coordinate closely with internal team membersincluding estimating, production, and draftingto ensure feasibility, accuracy, and a clean handoff of design details and client expectations.
  • Project Wrap-Up & Ongoing Connection : Lead final walkthroughs to review project outcomes, gather client feedback, and present close-out and warranty information. Continue nurturing the relationship through thoughtful follow-up and regular check-ins after project completion.
  • Community Engagement & Representation : Represent the company at networking events, industry functions, and community activities to strengthen referral networks and promote brand presence as needed.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in interior design, remodeling, or a client-facing sales role within the design-build industry.
  • Proficiency with basic design tools (e.g., Canva, SketchUp); CAD (Chief Architect) knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with tools such as HubSpot, Build Book, Outlook, and MS Teams.
  • Degree or certification in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (preferred); Membership in professional design associations such as NKBA is a plus.
  • Strong space planning and material selection abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills, with the confidence to lead client meetings, present ideas clearly, and guide decision-making with empathy and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple clients, appointments, and deliverables in a dynamic environment with many moving parts.
  • Compensation

  • 70,000$75,000 base salary, plus commission (total compensation range : $80,000$90,000 per year)
