PA : PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Performs medical services rendered under the supervision of a Physician in accordance with the Iowa Statute and Regulations for Physician Assistants, providing primary health care to individuals and families that emphasizes health promotion and disease intervention. This includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, and performing procedures within the scope of expertise and organizational protocols.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, and Training
Must be a graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program and successfully complete the NCCPA exam.
Must possess current Iowa Physician Assistant License.
Must possess a current DEA registration and State of Iowa Controlled Substances Act registration.
Must possess Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree plus three years of directly related clinical experience.
Must possess Master's Degree if practicing in an outreach clinic or off-site satellite location.
Previous experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical setting preferred.
Must possess the ability to function independently under general guidance of the supervising Physician and the policies and procedures of the institution.
Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
Must maintain emotional stability in emergency situations.
Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including the online training modules, the employee timesheet and the performance appraisal system. Job specific systems are also required.
Must possess valid certifications as determined by hospital privilege delineation.
Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
Physical Requirements
Sitting - Approximately 25% of shift.
Standing - Approximately 50% of shift.
Walking - Approximately 25% of shift.
Lifting - Approximately 25 pounds.
Twisting - Infrequent.
Bending - Infrequent.
Squat / Kneel - Not a requirement.
CNM, NP : PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Plans and directs care in the clinic and hospital setting independently and in collaboration with Physicians and other health care professionals. Provides women's health care to individuals and families that emphasizes health promotion and disease intervention. This includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing pharmacologic agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies, and performing procedures within the scope of expertise and organizational protocols.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, and Training
Iowa Board of Nursing Certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the Specialty of Certified Nurse Midwife is required.
Must possess current Iowa Registered Nurse and Advance Practice Nurse License or be able to become licensed.
Must possess Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree plus directly related clinical experience.
Previous experience as Certified Nurse Midwife in a clinical setting preferred.
Must possess the ability to function independently under general guidance of the supervising Physician and the policies and procedures of the institution.
