Summary

Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging ( MRI) procedures at a safe and experienced level without direct supervision. Unified by the core purpose of creating a healthier community one person at a time, the members of the Division of Patient Care Services commit themselves to sustaining a culture focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes.

Provides assistance to the department with respect to daily operations. Participates in on-call and holiday coverage as required. Transports patients to and from imaging area when necessary. Assists Sr. Technologist by maintaining Performance Improvement Program; records volume indicators such as number of procedures, types performed, etc. to ensure departmental goals are met. Assists in maintaining inventory and stocks necessary supplies in assigned area.

Performs MRI procedures using prescribed techniques. Reviews the exam order to make sure it correlates with the reason for exam. Contacts the ordering provider to make any necessary order changes. Performs all job tasks with a focus on safety for the patient, co-workers and self. Adheres to hospital infection control and safety policies. Adjusts and modifies care appropriate to the age and condition of the patients. Demonstrates knowledge of all fire safety and infection control standards. Cleans and maintains equipment according to departmental procedures; calls for service of inoperable or unsafe equipment
