Position : Ambulatory RN Team Lead - Primary Care
The RN-Ambulatory Team Lead reflects the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health. The role involves ensuring the delivery of competent, evidence-based care across the care continuum, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse leads clinical activities, collaborates with team members and providers, and ensures compliance with all relevant policies, standards, and regulations.
Position Overview :
The RN-Ambulatory Team Lead plays a vital role in coordinating patient care within the ambulatory setting. This position involves leading clinical activities, working collaboratively with leaders, providers, and team members to deliver exemplary care, and ensuring adherence to professional standards and organizational policies. The nurse is responsible for providing evidence-based care, managing resources, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as the lead clinical nurse, coordinating with leaders, providers, and team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Provide and coordinate competent, evidence-based nursing care across the care continuum, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Adhere to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Supervise and support clinical staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on excellence in patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure effective communication across the care team.
- Promote patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate resources and activities to optimize patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements :
Certifications :Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per department or unit policies.Education :Associate of Nursing (ASN) required.Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program.Licensure :Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.Experience :Two years of clinical experience preferred.Knowledge & Skills :Knowledge of clinical procedures relevant to the ambulatory setting.Familiarity with equipment and supplies used in the clinical area.Ability to coordinate multiple functions effectively and efficiently for a group of patients.Understanding of legal implications related to patient care activities and professional nursing standards.Why IU Health?
