Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. In this role, you will manage essential financial processes related to accounts payable and ensure accurate record-keeping. This is a long-term contract position with opportunities to contribute to an environmentally focused organization.

Responsibilities :

• Process and audit invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Maintain and update accounts payable records to ensure timely payments.
• Perform data entry tasks to record financial transactions and reconcile expenses.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies with professionalism.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
• Monitor accounts payable processes to identify and address any issues.
• Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts payable activities.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational guidelines for expense management.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures for accounts payable.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Requirements - At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
• Proficiency in data entry and expense reconciliation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
• Excellent customer service skills for vendor and stakeholder communication.
• Familiarity with accounting software and systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Solid understanding of accounts payable principles and best practices.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
