Cardiac and Neuro Stepdown : Cardiac bedside monitoring, Cardiac drips, TR bands, Post heart caths, Stroke / Neuro patients, BIPAP overflows Ages of Patients Served : Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+) Nurse to Patient Ratios : 1 : 6 Core Staffing Plan : Variable staffing grid to include : Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Interns (NIs). An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team. Staffing Certification : Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) ; Floating Between Units / Facilities Travelers may be asked to float to different units or facilities within a 35-mile radius of their original assignment. Floating will be based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity.
