American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of recent IR body and neuro experience in a Level 1 trauma center, with BLS and ARRT-R or RCIS required.

Job Details

  • Academic medical center with Level 1 trauma designation and comprehensive stroke center,
  • Interventional Radiology department with 8 procedure rooms handling 45-50 cases per day,
  • Patient population includes cases involving stroke, cancer, tumors, traumatic injuries, complex embolization, thrombectomy, and neuro interventions,
  • Work alongside a team including neurosurgeons, neuroradiologist, interventional radiologists, advanced providers, and tech extenders,
  • Scheduling options include 3x12s or 4x10s (8 : 00 AM - 6 : 30 PM) or 5x8s (8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM),
  • Call required : 3-4 call days per month and weekend call every 5th or 6th weekend from Friday evening to Monday morning,
  • Must work holiday shifts if scheduled per 75% holiday coverage policy,
  • No floating required,
  • EMR utilized is Epic Encompass,
  • Imaging equipment includes Siemens, GE, Philips, and GE ultrasound units,
  • Hospital-provided scrubs,
  • Free parking available,

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology body and neuro experience in a Level 1 trauma center,
  • BLS certification required,
  • ARRT-R or RCIS required,
  • Must be experienced with scrubbing, assisting in procedures, and circulating to operate equipment and manage supplies,
  • Experience with Epic Encompass preferred,
  • License required if applicable,
  • First-time travelers accepted,

    • Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include assisting with stroke, cancer, trauma, complex embolization, thrombectomy, Y-90, sclerotherapy, biopsies, and access procedures,
  • Tech extenders support with room turnover, paperwork, transport, and inventory,
  • Team support includes 2 techs per room with an RN present,
  • Department has a mix of experienced and new grad staff; flexibility with training and preceptorship is important,
  • Up to 2 weeks of facility and unit orientation provided,
  • Manager approval required for time-off requests,
  • Schedule operated on a 4-6 week cycle,
