Machine Operator

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Machine Operator to work in a large aerospace machine shop. This role involves setting up and operating forming, deburring, and heading machines to produce high-quality products while adhering to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Work safely under functional safety guidelines, including the use of PPE and equipment interaction.

Perform basic operations of equipment to produce at rate and meet quality standards.

Set up and operate forming, deburring, and heading machines to create sleeves or other products.

Monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary; stop machines when problems occur.

Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and orderly workstation and perform basic machine upkeep.

Perform additional tasks such as lubing, bluecoat, gritblast, sleeve washing, or packaging as needed.

Essential Skills

Ability to read and write English.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.

Math skills to solve problems.

At least 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Knowledge of shop practices and procedures, ability to read blueprints, and ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with part marking, warehouse, production, and machine operation.

Familiarity with bellcoat / thermal epoxy application.

Ability to operate the bluecoat machine.

Inspection skills.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large aerospace machine shop. Initial training will be conducted Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 : 30 pm. A clean-shaven face is required for proper respirator fit.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tukwila, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00 / hr.
