Education / Experience
Minimum 5 plus years' experience as a CMM operator using MCOSMOS software.
Minimum 5 years' experience as quality inspector.
High School or GED Diploma required
Technical college or secondary training in a quality discipline preferred
The MCOSMOS CMM programmer will provide CMM programming and quality control support and expertise in support of daily production and operational needs.
Responsibilities :
- To effectively program, set-up, and prove out with minimal supervision MCOSMOS coordinate measurement machines
- Ability to perform surface plate layout work to verify CMM measurements using conventional measurement equipment (manual cmm, comparator, height stands, etc.)
- Experience as CMM programmer using MCOSMOS CAT1000 software from 3D solid-models and 2D drawings a plus.
- Work closely with CMM programmers and inspection to solve more complex issues, critical thinking in problem solving
- Audit, implement and revise programs as needed for continuous improvement
- Create, develop, edit, and implement new CMM programs on more complex part applications using MCOSMOS software from 3D solid-models and 2D drawings
- Work with engineering department and Inspection lead ensuring the data collection and program efficiency along with program accuracy
- Develop best practice and a lean process as a continuous CMM program improvement.
- Ability to continuously improve and learn new software and different equipment
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Conduct dimensional and visual inspections per customer specifications and requirements.
- Review and approval of First Articles.
- Verifies routine product conformance to design requirements.
- Provides objective evidence of results.
- Identify and document discrepancies.
- Ability to identify repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiate requests for corrective action.
- Under limited supervision, inspects incoming parts / material, outgoing product and verifies that all documentation is correct.
- May require daily use of micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, etc.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and able to use the required PPE such as nitrile gloves, latex gloves, frock, smock, hair net and face mask.
