Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Goose Creek, South Carolina. In this newly established role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities :

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely reporting.
• Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing detailed reports to management.
• Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations and accounting standards.
• Support audits by gathering necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial data.
• Generate financial statements and reports for stakeholders.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies to ensure accuracy. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in general accounting practices.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and government contracting regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
