Job Scope -
This position is a non-IT project management position responsible for efficiently managing turn-key food processing and packaging equipment with a hands on approach to ensure on-time delivery of scope, within budget ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities -
- Management of and actively involved in the development through to completion of a Project. Manage the entire life cycle of the project from the Order to the completion of project and handover to customer.
- Review customer specification with Sales and technical team, Technical Support and Customer Service & Logistics to ensure knowledge sharing, ensure equipment and performance objectives are attainable and met for each project. Ensure that all project documentations requirements internal and external are met.
- Actively work with the Sales and Technical Support Teams, sharing knowledge and experience across all facets of the project. Ensure all required regulatory compliances are met
- Manage costs, schedule, documentation, quality, start-up / commissioning and training elements of each project you are assigned. Schedule and manage FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) for projects.
- Manage the installation and commissioning of the project and completion of the punch list items prior to the handover. Report on and meet project budgets.
Specific Duties -
Generate layouts to assist in sales presentations, including ensuring system designs are configured to tna standards accurately and within set timeframesProvide machine specification and cost estimations to the Sales Team, including sourcing and pricing additional non-standard equipment and reviewing all sales quotes for accuracy prior to quote release and before orderingDesign or provide specifications to external suppliers of job requirementsResponsible for ensuring all project plans are established, maintained and updated to all involved in the projectResponsible for all equipment orders, follow up and communication to all parties in relation to installationsIndirectly responsible for forming and ensuring the Project Team is productiveResponsible for making minor changes to plans with approval from R&DLiaise with Technical Support to ensure all aspects of installation are covered including layouts, contract amendments, changes to job specification, etc.Ensure deposit payments for all orders / projects are received prior to installationAttend and work at trade shows / exhibitions held throughout the year (including some weekends)Other tasks / duties as assigned.Managerial & Supervisory Responsibilities
Project Managers are directly accountable and responsible for their own work, ensuring each project meets budget and ensuring the whole Project Team is productiveQualifications
Trade or tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline is highly considered, but not mandatoryWork Experience
Minimum of 3 years in project management environmentExposure to the manufacturing (specifically food and packaging) industry is advantageous. Experience with managing food (Snacks) processing and packaging equipment will be highly desirable and given preference.Knowledge
