This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS) a business group within HIIs Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems.

HII Mission Technologies has needs for Mechanical Engineers who will perform computer-aided mechanical engineering design including component design and packaging engineering and interface design and specification while effectively negotiating with design stakeholders and managing risks. Our ideal applicant will have strong communication skills to negotiate design characteristics among engineers suppliers and program management.

Compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including years of experience and direct involvement in supporting energy initiatives. The position may require relocation and periodic onsite work. We welcome applicants from across the country provided they are flexible and willing to relocate and attend onsite engagements as needed.

What you will do

• Analyze and solve complex mechanical engineering problems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement innovative mechanical solutions.
• Contribute to the overall product architecture design.
• Identify articulate and manage risks associated with mechanical thermal electrical and optical systems.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders including customers and technical experts
• Track and drive tasks through to completion ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines
• Develop and manage internal and external relationships
