Salary : 37.50 per hour
The UPS Field Service Engineer Level 1 Works on projects / matters of limited complexity in a support role. Typically requires 0-3 years of related experience in the power electronics industry, specifically withUPS and related critical power equipment. Typically reports to a manager. Work is closely managed.
Specific Duties
- Commissioning, maintaining, starting up, upgrading firmware, field modifications, and providing emergency support onUPS systems within the regional coverage site.
- Attending training at the manufacturer's headquarters on various OEM units and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which include testing equipment and / or rebuilding older systems
- Troubleshot issues with the technical support group related to the
UPS, PDUs, and STS.
Help to develop Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and is expected to consult with Field Service Manager(s) concerning unusual problems and developments.Other duties as assigned by managementJob Requirements
Preferably 0-2+ years of experience in the critical power industry and ability to troubleshoot equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDUs, STS, etc.Utilizes hand tools, Voltmeters, Current Clamper, and testing equipment.Verbal, written communication skills & customer relation skillsMust be able to provide a high level of quality customer serviceMust be able to complete Field Service Reports promptlyRequires knowledge of the equipment manufacturer's specificationsMust be able to lift up to 100 lbs. during specific proceduresWilling to work nights & weekends when necessary.Knowledge of general computer hardware & software applicationsTechnical / Engineering degree a plusPrevious military experience and training are a plus.Educational Background
Technical graduate of a two-year accredited technical / Engineering school.OR experience in the related power electronics field or electrical industryremote work
