Senior Professional Accountant
This is an open competitive employment opportunity for a Senior Professional Accountant. The position is located in Tallahassee, Florida, and requires proficiency in Microsoft 2007 Excel, Word, and Outlook. The hiring range for this position is $42,561.57 - $45,000.00. Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle. The work hours are 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm, Monday-Friday. This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment. This position is not eligible for telework. The applicant will be required to work in the Tallahassee Office located at 1801 Hermitage Blvd. The interview will consist of oral interview questions and work samples. Work samples will be answered using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following required entry level knowledge, skills and abilities : Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures. Knowledge of banking practices and procedures. Knowledge of the methods of data collection. Knowledge of and ability to use Word and Excel applications. Ability to prepare financial statements and reports. Ability to review, analyze and evaluate data. Ability to analyze and review accounting policies, principles, standards and procedures. Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to banking practices. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agencies and vendors. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team structure.
Brief description of duties includes managing work assignments for all activities related to daily functions of the Cash Management section, managing daily activities related to research of funds deposited into the Treasury Concentration Account and Consolidated Revolving Account (CRA) banks, managing banking activities for state agencies participating in the statewide CRA, analyzing and assisting agencies in resolving unidentified EFT transactions and assist in the implementation of new ACH deposits into the agencies' sub-accounts in the Treasury Concentration Account, serving as an integral team member of the Cash Management Section to provide back up for the various duties within the Section, and performing other tasks as directed within the Cash Management Section.
