Your Role on the Team

Position Summary :

Incumbent is responsible for managing the daily delivery of patient care, as well as the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care in the Chao Comprehensive Cancer Center. Ensures continuity and congruity of services through coordination of the overall patient care, supervision and direction of nurse staff, and the facilitation of responses to physician requests and services. Serves as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, and patients. Additionally, incumbent reviews data and devises effective control mechanisms to ensure the environment fosters safe patient care.

Required Qualifications :

• Understanding of Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory requirements
• Strong customer service orientation as well as written and oral communication skills
• Previous experience working with cancer programs
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Minimum 3 years experience as a nurse
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership role
• Current California RN license
• Complete understanding of acuity levels for the patient population
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
