Business Office Manager
Job Responsibilities
Record cash receipts in the proper company or resident account.
Maintain necessary billing and financial information in resident business files.
Manage resident trust accounts and reconcile balances monthly.
Collect and organize records from department managers to complete month-end closing and report all necessary information to the Corporate Office.
Perform and coordinate collection efforts with the Nursing Home Administrator.
Maintain accurate records of payor sources, addresses, telephone numbers, etc.; explain bills to residents as needed and ensure appropriate backup records are available.
Maintain a system for recording accounts receivable.
Apply knowledge of reimbursement systems, allowable services, and required documentation to ensure accurate billing.
Reconcile room and board charges with the monthly census.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident and facility information.
Ensure effective communication with residents, families, facility staff, and business office personnel.
Consistently meet strict deadlines for billing and reporting.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Bookkeeping experience preferred.
Proficiency with adding machines and computer software applications.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and outside agencies.
