Position Title :  Hematology / Oncology Physician

Agency :  Veterans Health Administration (VHA)

Location :  Stockton, CA

Salary Range :  242,000-336,000

Work Schedule :  Full-time

Job Description

The Hematology / Oncology Physician will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to veteran patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Diagnosing and treating blood disorders and cancers.
  • Administering chemotherapy and other oncologic therapies.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
  • Participating in clinical research and medical education activities.
  • Performing bone marrow biopsies and other relevant procedures.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements :

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Completed residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.

    • Preferred Experience :

  • Board certification in Hematology and / or Oncology.
  • Experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Prior experience working with veterans is highly desirable.
